The Pigs-- A story about 2 unlikely friendships-- Part IX

Kirby had been floored by Alyssa's comment. "Why do people have these things as pets?" Kirby could not believe this. She was putting up with all of the lifting, and petting. She hated it! She was going to revolt! Kirby whispered to Newbie,

The Pigs-- A story about 2 unlikely friendships-- Part VIII

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, US
Gevevieve hustled Kirby and Newbie out of their cage, as soon as they had finished breakfast. Kirby had no clue whatsoever as to where he was going. He arrived on a beach that  nearly melted his claws off. He played in the water with  Newbie, ducking over and water the waves. He went back to the condo and took a little nap. While he was napping, Genevieve's daughter, Alyssa, was looking at the guinea pigs a little strangely. She told Genevieve "
They gorge themselves on lettuce and a carrot and then fall asleep in their own poo!  They wake up and make noise when I come home figuring that it's once again time to eat.  They have a terrible sense of sight and smell since they can't really go straight to the food it seems.  Why do people have these things as pets?"

The Pigs-- A story about 2 unlikely friendships-- Part Vll

Middle of Nowhere, Near Coosawatchie, South Carolina

Kirby was watching a in-drive movie about "Guinea Pig
blunders". He was pretty disgusted how humans portrayed guinea pigs as overweight trash heaps that made a blunder every day. Kirby was always on his exercise wheel, so he was pretty thin, and he was a very picky eater. Finally, the car pulled into Genevieve's condo. Kirby explored the place, and went to the Atlantic Ocean. There, she decided to swim in a bit, and see how many times that she could jump a wave without getting tossed under. Her record was 1, and she barely made it, seeing that she was only 4 inches tall, that was was quite a feat for her. As she was going in, a crab bit her right on the toe. When she got in, she had her favorite food for supper, fruit salad.

The Pigs-- A story about 2 unlikely friendships-- Part VI

Middle of Nowhere, North Carolina

They had flown from Cincinnati to North Carolina stopping for the night. Kirby was busily eyeballing Genevieve's salad. She had barely anything to eat for the whole flight. "You won't get fuller by looking at food," Newbie advised, sagely. "You could help me out by screaming at Genevieve. Then she might give us some food." Kirby turned around to look at Genevieve, but the annoying noise that he was about to unleash, got stuck in his throat as he saw the amazing mountain scenery. As Newbie turned around to see what was the matter, she too saw the breathtaking scene, with wood thrush's song melting in with the sunset. Genevieve may have been beautiful, but she had nothing against this. When they came in for a landing, Kirby's ears popped, against the sudden change of altitude, but she had gotten used to this. When they got to the hotel, people were chattering all over the place, with a strange accent. After they had checked in, Genevieve gave them tons of vegetables, which Kirby and Newbie gulped down by the ton. By the time the guinea pigs were asleep, they both had stomachaches, and Kirby muttered, "Too much food!

Lear Jet, Middle of the Atlantic

Kirby got tired quickly of being stuck in a plane, looking out the window and seeing only the white of the clouds and the blue of the sky. He asked Newbie, "Where are we going?" "We are going to Cincinnati, a town in Ohio, to visit a few friends of Genevieve's," replied Newbie, "We'll be there shortly." Several hours went by in complete silence. Finally they landed in Ohio. They got off the plane, and proceeded to drive a few hours to the house. Once they got in the house, a dog kept on barking at them. Once they got unpacked, they had a very well deserved sleep, for the rest of the day.
